Excerpts from the "Writings of Brother E"

Thomas--- Tom joined the Irish Christian Brothers for some years and taught in Derry and Tipperary town. When the time came to take his final vows, he decided the life was not for him and also opted for the priesthood. One of the Brothers in New York City found a vacancy for him in a seminary there. Eventually, he wass summoned to teach in Saint Thomas College in the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota. This assignment, in hindsight, proved to be providential as he was destined to act as father to his sister, Cissie’s children upon the death of both their parents. On his death in 1971, Tom remembered them all in his will.
